Car Free Solutions in Vancouver

We'd like to do our part to help Vancouverites in their quest to make this city the greenest city in the world by 2020. Here's a little reality check documented on the city of Vancouver website Talk Green Vancouver webpage,

"Air pollution and climate change – Motor vehicles are among of the largest sources of greenhouse gases and other pollutants, causing global warming, ecological damage, and reduced air quality. In Vancouver, light duty vehicles accounted for over 30% of GHG emissions in 2008."

We All Scream For Gelato

Finally, it's hot in Vancouver! What a glorious change! There are a few things that make summer aside from sunshine and one of those is ice cream. Capitalism Saves Planet Organic?

There seems to be no shortage of organic grocer's or grocery stores carrying organic goods in Vancouver these days. Perhaps that's why Canada's once thriving Planet Organic never got a chance to get a foot hold closer than Port Coquitlam. Now its hard to say if it ever will. Visit the Modo online and you might recognize the “Don’t Make Me Think” approach to web design and what has transpired is a far more compelling and user friendly website.

Sugar Free Saviours

After a serious soccer injury and several bouts of illness coupled with antibiotics prescriptions, I found myself sitting, exhausted and disenchanted in the office of local Naturopath, Dr. Seema Kanwal. My quad injury had been so severe it had caused a series of events that triggered acute muscle spasms in my lower back. After six weeks of chronic back-pain, one visit to the doctor and four visits to the Chiro later I invested in acupuncture . . . and voila, there I was. After a little poke, poke, poke I was totally recuperated after two sessions. It was there I learned that my leg was the culprit for my back and that my other prescription chasing ailments that had been plaguing me for the past year and half could be treated with diet. This is a slightly detailed and cumbersome explanation for my reason to go sugar and dairy free.
